Someone in my league (Denver in NFL Showdown) picked up a bunch of top tier talent on the waiver wire and is now over 30 million over the cap. He's new and didn't realize he could be putting his team into a bad situation.
You couldn't be more wrong. I knew EXACTLY what I was doing and got my team under the cap by the next sim. (The only surprise was that more of you didn't make similar claims to limit my haul.) There is no reason why the waiver wire claims should be limited by the salary cap mid-week. Since NONE of the claimed players come with bonus salary they can all be cut without cap penalty if you end up 'winning' too many.
People need to stop trying to fix what isn't broke.
My apologies wieczoreks. You are 100% correct that I was wrong about you. I was actually in contact with you in private messages at the time that happened and when you got back under the cap, I congratulated you. You deserve big time respect and success for how you handled it and I will always have confidence in you knowing what you are doing.
Please understand, my thoughts on limiting how far over the cap people can go is only to help prevent the situations that I've seen happen a handful of times, and I'm sure it's happening more than I have seen. This can easily cause those new people to become discouraged, stop playing and leave a team ruined. Since I started playing, I've seen a significant increase in requests to save leagues. It makes me wonder if they are connected.
I like this site, I see a lot of potential for some serious success and would love to see it flourish.
