Once a valid change happens I will join a bunch of leagues to test the parameters , but the last was nerfing small players. It took only two months to test that one.

Hopefully , a huge change happens with static ratings (speed strenght fatigue and how they relate to weight not density ) as well as zone play and blocking for ball carriers.

Also, qb play is not where I want it to be....as well as some new plays, but like I said I would love for this game to just have a play editor . As alignments and defensive assignment rotation just are not there yet.

Without reading all the posts, I'd like to interject that having a league that starts new every X number of seasons, i.e., empty rosters, new player draft, would probably bring in more interest. Because now an owner gets his team upside down and just leaves it and looks for a new team. This and I think people really like to draft new teams, I know I really do.

That's a very interesting thought... are you thinking that maybe every, say, 5 years all the players are removed from teams, dead cap is reset, and a new full draft is run?

I'd have to think about how that would impact contracts, I would imagine I would need to cap the contracts to the number of years remaining before the reset. But it's very intriguing as a league option.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. Drafting a new team is like candy to me, I'm sure there are a few others as well.

I agree, drafting new teams is great, then they start trading, that I dislike!

I get that these would be completely custom leagues and you'd have to explicitly join one. But punishing long term players in a league seems like the worst way to build excitement for the game.

The only way this works is if every draft has allocation style players in it. Otherwise, every time the league turns over, everyone ends up with a mediocre team that they have to figure out how to win with all over again.

This will of course advantage any veteran players that would agree to play in such a system because they would just draft the best players over and over and over again since most inexperienced owners know how to draft past round 2-3 of a normal draft and after round 10 of an allocation draft.

I think this is overthinking things. What you are saying is levelling the playing field.
I've said this many times, I think an attractive 'IN' to MFN is a casual league where you can't use rules and are more reliant on the CS.
What we have now is elite and non elite owners/players, this is due to time constraints, understanding how code works, understanding football and of course a willingness to log in and spend hours on here, then there is everybody else who only want/can spend half an hour a day on here.
Construct a league where the game cannot be corrupted by how many hours you spend on here and have all teams use a full playbook.

I'm not poo pooing Hitmans idea, as I think it has merit, but when you are building a team and ready to compete and the following year all rosters are reset does not appeal to me....yet MORE time consumed on here.

I'll spend 4 seasons building my team the way I want thru the draft and thru free agency, not to mention that massive FA signing at the end of the 3rd, just to start over at the beginning of the 5th season.....
Yeah, I'll walk, no run, away too

I disagree to an extent. What we have is an overly simplistic game that aspects of the UI and game engine make unnecessarily complex.

I like to think that I'm a decent game planner, but if I get stuck with a team that has no quality DBs, then I know my team is doomed to failure. Even if I can crank the offense up to ridiculous levels, which in itself is hard given inconsistent QB and OL play, I will still lose the majority of games.

Once you have a good secondary, all you need is the fastest skill players and LBs that you can find that aren't completely awful at everything else. If you have those two things, you can hit Load Recommended all day.

If you don't have a good secondary, it doesn't matter how much time you spend game planning, you will lose.

It's a horrible idea and I'll take it from this standpoint: legacy building with players, especially those you re-name only for them to have short shelf lives?
