Pay-only league - any takers?

It was suggested in another thread that we add an option for a league that only players who have a credit balance of 6 or more be allowed to participate in. This would mean that all users would be required to purchase credits, essentially making it a "premium" league. The advantage would be that the users in the league would likely be more engaged since they actually paid to play, and hopefully it would also result in lower league turnover as a result.

If this interests you, please post your interest in this thread. If I get 20 takers, I'll create the new league type and launch it. Also specify whether you would prefer a standard league or a custom league - and whether you would join if the type you prefered were to get fewer votes.

Consider also that if you purchase credits, your balance will not be refreshed unless it falls below 5 - so if you participate in multiple leagues, you will essentially be paying to remain in those leagues as well.

I'd like 1 and/or 2 to go that route rather than start in a new league.
Standard, but I'd go custom if majority wanted.

I would be interested. I'd prefer a custom league, but I'd join either.

I probably won't convert an existing league because I don't want to force out anyone who doesn't want to pay but is invested in their team. I think it's unlikely we'd get all 32 owners to agree to change to a premium league.

As the custom leagues stand right now is how I like them, just a simple upgrade to personalize your team.
I don't see how by paying for a league will stop what was said in the other thread. I've come here from GLB and there are people there who splash cash like spoiled brats. Will this not be a case of owners who have cash to spare just 'buying' the league or have I missed something?

Personally, I will not be joining it, but those that want this ... crack on!

It just means that you have to be a paying user to play. You don't gain any advantage from paying beyond being able to join the league.

I would most definitely join a premium league. Would prefer custom, but would play in either.

I would strongly consider it.

So I didn't miss the point then. NOTHING changes except you part with cash to feel even more pissed off when it happens all over again, its not a guarantee of a code of conduct between brothers is it?

No, but I know I for one definitely enjoy the long-standing rivalries between committed and competitive team owners, as opposed to the relative merry-go-round that the rest of the leagues face every off season spin. It's not a guarantee, naturally, but it definitely selects for players who are much more likely to hold their squad for the long term.
