This doesn't explain how a QB that averages 58% passing for the year suddenly turns in a 27% game. An offense that turns out 400 yards a game drops to below 100. An defense that gives up 250 yards a game suddenly gives up 350. Not all of that can be explained through game planning.

I think it can easily be explained by playing good teams. If you're like most teams I've seen, your season averages are inflated by all of the bad (or poorly managed) teams you play along the way.

I've had teams averaging over 500 yards and 40+ points all of sudden get shut down by a good team / owner.

Take a look at what my team does in CUST-9 (Auburn), then see what happens when I play London!

I unfortunately belong to the league with the absolute lowest home playoff winning percentage for a non-custom league (MFN-19) and have belonged in it since I started. Does MFN-19 have wild card spots going to teams with records good enough to win another division? Or maybe they are from a tough division, so their record doesn't reflect how good they are? Just curious.

Just curious if these good home teams are losing to 7-9 squads that barely made the playoffs, or if they are losing to teams as good as they are (or better).

We've seen a little bit of everything. I would have to check the records of each team in the past few years.

Carolina, for sure, went 8-7-1 last year and won their division, and then romped through the WC and Divisional rounds against two much better teams. The only caveat I would put on that team is I don't remember when raymattison took them over.

I considered this, but I disagree. I try to run a balanced offense in the first three quarters so that if a team keys on one part of the offense, then I should still be able to move the ball.

The only explanation for how badly my QB played was that he was consistently under pressure, which goes back to my bad code bit above.

I don't know about discounting defensive pressure as bad code. I am sure WarEagle can attest after the cup game that my D-line is beastly when healthy (as is his, perhaps more so at times).
As an owner that values defense more than offense I built the team that way on purpose.

Ray took over early in the season or maybe before. It took them a while,to get into a groove not to mention the league has good owners all around one of the reasons for his (8-7-1) He was one of the toughest opponents I played as far as noticing my opponents gameplan .. . He gameplaned his way to the super bowl. You beat Kansas City by 80 points in the 2nd rd at home and then was beat by Cincinatti , They know that your offense calls HB counter left over 20 times a game. So all he had to do was stop that play. 80 points vs. KC who did not gameplan or atleast not rules. So you linking this game to your home field argument means that your gameplan was better then his but he won because he was away.. Come on.... Most the time when QBs are awful it's the defense being excellent that game.

I didn't say anything about losing to Cincy in MFN-19. Those games have been chess matches the past few seasons, and he has the more talented roster.

Also, here's punisher's thread about how often WC teams win WC games and divisional games: https://mfn13.myfootballnow.com/community/thread/1/1372?page=2#9864

Call it whatever you want, but it's a statistical anomaly in each of the leagues that he brings up.

But you all don't need to worry because I just won't post any more on the threads. Ever.
