How can a positional coach earn $11m pa against a HC making $2m pa?
I thought this couldn’t happen?

This is a known bug when the AI hires coaches, I haven't had a chance to fix it yet but should be fixed in a future version.

The team in question has an owner, I'll PM you.

It was still an AI signing because he went into the first game with a coaching vacancy.

So if you don't hire one yourself the AI will do this?

Until, hiring , firing, and poaching of coaches looks remotely like any real life attempts I will continue to let AI handle everything there. Every one of my teams functions that way for seasons now. And I never hit that button that redistributes the contracts money.

The time it takes is not worth the effect, but I don't win big games either.

A very tedious part of this game, agreed. Interesting stuff there Ray.

The fact that I still don't have a DC in Moguls going into pre-season caused me to look at the details of why.

Free Agency 1, I made an offer of 54M to Jeremy Goodman for 3 years at DC.

Instead, he took an offer from the Vikings (who were AI at that point) to be their OC for a little over 76M for the same period.

Minnesota restructured coaches' salaries when the new owner took over. Goodman's salary is now only 33M for 3 years, and the restructure left him enough to easily outbid me on my third attempt, Dan Peterson. Not faulting Cman, he just did a good job managing the situation he found.

But ... I can see where this might make someone irate. Situations like this are why the AI coach-signing logic is a problem. When you get a chance ... after punt blocks, speed vs. any other attribute, trade values, and the new interface ...
